Initial Meetings with London 2012
by Chris Hipgrave / September 10, 2008
On September 8th and 9th, USA Canoe & Kayak participated in initial meetings and site visits of the 2012 whitewater venue in Waltham Cross and flatwater venue in Eton Dorney, England.
The flatwater venue is already in existance and was used for the 2005 Rowing World Championships, while the whitewater venue will be completely new with ground breaking in spring 2009. Both are incredible venues that will have a lasting legacy to GB sport.
Thank you to Samantha Curling at LOCOG, John Birch of the Lea River Authority and Shaun Craven, Head Coach of the Britsh Mens Flatwater Team for their time, energy and insight.

Hi We look forward to welcoming you to the Broxbourne White Water Centre for the London 2012 Olympics. As you say, the purpose built venue will be a fitting place to compete and will provide a much needed artificial white water course for the South of England. Pictures of the proposed course as well as blog posts to keep you up to date with the development of the centre can be found at: http://broxbournewhitewatercanoecentre.co.uk/category/broxbourne-white-water-canoe-centre/
